There was some pretty rad news shared today.
Travel and Leisure selected The Spectator Hotel as the #1 Best City Hotel in the Continental U.S and #2 Best Hotel in the World!
And to top it off, Charleston was rated as the #1 City in the World.
I am extremely happy for The Spectator Hotel staff, Charlestowne Hotels and the ownership team at Palmetto Commercial Properties. As an architect it is extremely rewarding to see your client's dreams become a reality.
When we began the initial design discussions about The Spectator, owners Jay Keenan and Batson Hewitt said that they wanted this hotel to be the best in Charleston. For an architect this is a dream job however I must admit to being a little intimidated by such high expectations "Best hotel in Charleston? That's a pretty tall order," I remember thinking.
Well I guess it worked out.
Congratulations to CPI Construction and the entire design team: Jenny Keenan Interior Design, Thomas and Hutton Civil Engineering, Design Works Landscape Design, ADC Structural Engineering, DWG MEP Engineering and of course our posse at LS3P.
Thanks to everyone who has visited The Spectator and to all my family members who I dragged through the site during construction.
And if you haven't been yet........drinks on me!
